For almost 200 years the famous fighting men of Nepal, the Gurkhas, have helped fight our wars and keep our peace.
Today 10,000 old Gurkha soldiers and their widows in Nepal still face desperate poverty and a very uncertain future. They are mostly the old warriors of World War Two who did not serve long enough to earn an Army Pension. Although increasing numbers of Gurkhas will settle in the UK, and the Trust is on standby to help them, these 10,000 venerable veterans are too old and frail to leave their mountain villages. During our darkest hours, they stood by us. Now we must stand by them.
Without any other form of income and now in their twilight years, these Gurkhas rely entirely on the Trust to provide a dignified and secure old age. That is why the Trust needs your help to raise the £10 million needed this year to provide monthly welfare pensions, medical care and community aid projects for Gurkha villages.
Join me and help repay the debt of honour we owe these gallant, deserving Gurkha soldiers and make your donation now.
Thank you so very much
